Error Loading Recipe File - Factory Talk ME 10

I have a machine that is using a Micrologix 1400 plc and a Panel View Plus 700 HMI. The original programs were written by the machine manufacturer and I need to edit them to include additional items. (currently the machine can perform 6 welds per assembly and needs to be increased to 16 welds)

I have the original files from the machine builder and was able to use the application manager to open the mer file. (they were not able to give me the version of the software the original Panel View was programmed with) When I tried to open the recipe file I get "Error loading recipe"

The software is looking for a .rpp file. When I located the recipe file for this project in windows explorer, it has an extension .rps.

What can I do to open this file in ME10?

    Good morning @land5150,

Did you try to upload from the PVPlus to see if you could open that .MER in ViewStudio? If you can, you should see in the Recipe config where the Recipe file is being stored.

If the recipe file is stored with the project, it should upload with the project. If it's stored someplace else, you may need to copy it to a memory card to get it to your PC.

    Sincerely,

    Shawn, thank you.
The recipe file was on the PVP and stored on a SD card. I appreciate the quick response.

    Regards,
    Jeff
